Memberships and renewals
How recurring periods, credit usage, voluntary pauses, resumes, rollover, and billing dates work.
Memberships provide recurring access to eligible class types. Each paid period has its own credit allotment, usage balance, and paid-through date. The membership card in the client account shows the current status and the dates that control booking access.
How an ordinary membership period works
- 1A paid renewal starts a membership period and creates the period's configured allotment.
- 2Bookings use eligible membership credits before package credits.
- 3Used credits remain used unless a qualifying cancellation restores them.
- 4The next successful renewal starts the next period and refreshes that period's allotment.
What happens when staff pauses a membership
A voluntary pause stops future billing, but it does not erase the period that has already been paid for. The platform records how much paid time remained at the moment of the pause and preserves the existing credit usage exactly as it stands.
- 1Staff chooses a restart date and pauses the membership.
- 2Unused credits can still book classes that take place on or before the original paid-through date. The client does not need to make every booking before staff presses Pause.
- 3Classes after the original paid-through date cannot use the paused membership, even when the account still displays unused credits.
- 4On resume, the saved paid time begins again from the resume date. The next charge moves to the end of that restored time, and no charge is made merely because the membership resumed.
- 5Credit usage does not reset on resume. Credits used before or during the pause remain used; credits that were not used remain available during the restored period.
Example: one week and two credits remaining
If a membership is paused with seven paid days and two unused credits remaining, those credits may still book classes through the original paid-through date. If neither is used, resuming later restores seven paid days with two credits. If one is used while paused, resuming restores seven paid days with one credit.
Rollover is separate
Rollover controls whether unused credits move from one completed renewal period into the next. It is not required to preserve credit usage or restore paid time after a voluntary pause.
Payment grace is not a voluntary pause
The three-day payment grace period applies to a past-due membership after a failed renewal payment. It does not extend the booking cutoff for a membership that staff voluntarily paused.
Unlimited-style memberships
An unlimited membership has no numeric credit balance for its eligible class types, but its booking access is still controlled by the paid-through date while paused and by the restored paid time after resume.
- Check the membership card for its status and paid-through date.
- For a paused membership, confirm whether the restart is scheduled or requires staff to resume it manually.
- Compare the remaining credit balance with classes already booked during the period.
- Contact the studio before the restart date if the pause timing needs to change.
